This is a rare antique 1800's Milton Inhaler trademarked M&H.
It is an original scarce ceramic bodied Milton Inhaler with corked lid, heavily decorated in an aesthetic burnt umber transfer of two hummingbirds, one on either side, among wild flowers, made circa 1870-1900.
The ornament elevates the inhaler from its utilitarian medicinal purposes to a holistic object offering comfort and relief to the user as nectar and flying offer subsistence and freedom to the resilient wild bird, one often associated with healing and resurrection.
It comes with the original glass straw inhaler.
